Global study shows 22% drop in geothermal LCOE in last year


The latest report from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) examining global costs for a full range of renewable power generation options shows that the levelised cost of electricity (LCOE) for geothermal power fell by 22% between 2021 and 2022 and remains a highly cost-competitive option - and the only renewable energy option that can supply dispatchable power without storage.
