About the event
This is a hybrid event and will be held in person with an option to attend virtually via Teams for those outside the Perth area.
The geothermal industry has been awaiting the award of geothermal exploration licenses offered in the bidding round that finished in April 2022. One of the issues causing delays is establishing a process for how potential resource tenure conflicts will be managed where petroleum and geothermal permits coexist. The AGA has been actively engaging with DMIRS to help establish a clear regulatory process that will allow both geothermal and petroleum companies to explore with confidence.
The workshop is intended to provide an opportunity to review the issues, discuss the draft document, identify any concerns and suggest how to formulate an effective submission. The outcome will be used to guide the AGA submission content, but willalso be useful for members that may wish to submit their own submissions independantly.
